Georgia Tax Credit for Financial Donors

The Foster Care Support Foundation is certified as a Qualified Foster Child Support Organization and under O.C.G.A. § 48-7-29.24, a taxpayer may be eligible for a tax credit on financial contributions made to our certified organization.

According to the Georgia Department of Revenue’s website, “The taxpayer must electronically submit Form IT-QFCD-TP1 through the Georgia Tax Center to request preapproval of the qualified foster child donation credit from the Department of Revenue. The Department will not preapprove any qualified foster child donation credit where the Form IT-QFCD-TP1 is submitted or filed in any other manner. Please see the Qualified Foster Child Donation Credit Preapproval Instructions for more information.” More details about the Qualified Foster Child Donation Credit are available on the Georgia DoR website . It’s easy to claim your tax credit and make a donation.

~ Simply Login or set up an account on Georgia Tax Center (GTC) (download the preapproval instructions here).

~ Select Foster Care Support Foundation as the Qualified Foster Child Support Organization.

~ After you have received approval from the Georgia Department of Revenue, you can make your donation to Foster Care Support Foundation within 60 days.

You can also donate through your bank’s Bill Pay system, by check or money order by sending it to the address below. Be sure to include a valid email address to receive the required confirmation tax form and also include “QFC Tax Credit” in the Memo line"

Once we receive your donation, FCSF will send you a Qualified Foster Child Donation Credit Letter of Confirmation form (Georgia Form IT-QFCD-FUND1) to the email you provided with your donation. Please fill out the Contributing Taxpayer information, save the form, and send it back to us via reply email. Our staff will sign and return the form via email for your records. When you file your taxes, download a Qualified Foster Child Donation Credit Computation form (Georgia Form IT-QFCD-TP2) and attach it to your tax return.
